About me
Hello,
I’m Eunji Kim, a designer who derives answers calmly through in-depth exploration.
Just like the meaning of my name—“gracious pond”—I enjoy quietly observing my surroundings and delving into their depths.
People often tell me I’m “calm” and that they feel “at ease” around me. I believe this disposition naturally reflects in my approach to design.
I value the “process” behind a result more than the result itself. I find the greatest interest in observing how users navigate the flow behind a finished screen, how information is perceived within a structure, and how small differences can transform the user experience. This interest shapes my working method. Rather than rushing to solve a problem, I first understand the context, organize the flow, and then build the structure. Even when composing a screen, I focus on refining the layout and flow so that information is conveyed naturally, rather than simply adding visual elements. While this approach may seem a bit slow, I believe it enhances the quality of the final product. Through my experience with various projects, I have come to realize that the process of organizing the structure makes the user experience clearer.
Drawing on my experience spanning industrial design, visual design, and UI/UX, my goal is to create work that goes beyond simply “looking good” and instead considers both usability and context. Striking a balance between visual polish and functional validity is what I prioritize.
Rather than a designer who already possesses all the answers, I am more like someone who continuously observes and asks questions in search of a better direction. However, through this process, I am gradually building my own set of standards, and I aspire to become a designer who creates better results based on these standards, even within collaborative projects.
This space serves as a record of those reflections and the creative process itself.
From small-scale experiments to full-scale project outcomes, I aim to showcase the diverse ways I think and create based on my principles.
Please take your time to explore this pond, which holds the depth of my work.
And if you’re curious about the process, feel free to reach out anytime :)
